CAREERS IN CASTING
- OUR INDUSTRY NEEDS ALL TYPES OF ENGINEERS – AND A VARIETY OF PROFESSIONALS IN ROLES RIGHT ACROSS EACH BUSINESS
- THE CAREER OF CHOICE FOR MAKERS, CREATORS AND INNOVATORS
- THERE IS A ROLE FOR EVERY TYPE OF PERSON
Cast Metals Engineering is transforming the world. Starting a long and exciting career in casting means you can be part of the industry that is shaping the world we live in.
There is a role for every type of person – so if you like new technology, solving problems or working with your hands, designing and making things that actually move the world, then this could be the industry for you!
A sustainable industry, we contribute to making sure our country’s metal resources are used repeatedly, by taking scrap metal and turning it into new components. Metals then become permanent materials.
Casting engineers innovate and design new cast parts every day. Simulation, additive manufacturing, machining, measurement, metallurgy and CAD design are important skills also used by Foundries.

All foundries and companies that work in our industry require more than engineers to run their businesses successfully.
Like many other businesses, they require people in marketing, finance, logistics, planning, human resources, warehousing and other support services – meaning there could be the perfect career just waiting for you.

For many people leaving High School or Sixth Form and wanting to start a career as a professional in our industry – an apprenticeship is the perfect way to start.
Through an apprenticeship, you learn new skills, get paid, achieve professional qualifications right up to Postgraduate level and don’t have to pay off a huge lump of student debt because it’s all funded by the company you work for!
